As a music lover, I know shri vinodji over last two decades through his events which I used to enjoy. In December 2013 I got the opportunity to meet him in person as Guruji at BHATKHANDE and the bond became very strong. He was a man of distinguished humanity. Any one had met him once can never forget his calm and alluring nature, smiling face and affectionate but impressive voice. For students, he was Guru, guide, strength, driving force and what not. His inspiration to all his students is admirable. By spreading music, he has brought cheer and joy in several life. As a Doctor I was amazed to learn from him that ” Music is a Therapy for several diseases. Our plan for research for the same remained in a mid way. My gratitude for such a great personality cannot be expressed in words. It is a great loss for his family members, students and also for the society. When I think about him, when I see his photo I cannot control myself with a heavy heart. I am praying for his eternal repose. He is not with us now, but I know always he will be in our hearts watching over and guiding us. He is always loved and never forgotten. We all will miss him.

I met GURUJI for the first time in 2013. Since then HE has been part of my life. Not a single day passes without HIS ”smaran”. HE encouraged and initiated me in music and let me gain confidence that I can sing. He is the perfect GURU in today’s world, a guiding light of “Guru Shishya parampara” as seen in ancient times. HIS physical presence is missed every day, every moment! But HE is always present in our thoughts and action! May God bless HIM with ‘Sadgati’ at HIS Lotus Feet. Sad Guru ko Koti Naman !!

For me Guruji is not just a word but a vibration , a feeling and a soul . Guruji in true sense was a guru and is a guru for me for always . He was a great teacher , motivator and very affectionate in his approach. He always kept encouraging me knowing that I was not a born or trained singer. He always encouraged me to sing on stage before audience . His whole efforts was to bring out my passion in front of people n relatives. He always helped me to grow n and be better with each passing day . This abundantly shows patience he had and how passionate he was for each of his students . I know Guruji I will never get a better teacher or person like you have been to me . This is a great loss for me and for each one of us in the institute. We are very much aware of it . May wherever you are, you keep blessings us as your children and be an inspiration to all of us today and always. May we keep making you feel proud . I really miss you a lot every time. whenever I sing , you are there in my voice n mind. Kindly keep blessings me as you always did . Miss you a lot Guruji. Pranam Guru ji . Happy shraddanjali on Guru Purnima. 👏👏💐💐

I know Vinod Chopra ji since 1990, our bonding was like family members. When I met him in October 2017, never thought that meeting him for the last time.It cut to my heart to hear about his sudden demise. It’s an irreparable loss to the near and dear ones and the institute.Whenever, I think about him I can see his smiling face and hear his impressive voice, feel he is around..
He was a successful, passionate man and a lively person. I have enjoyed attending most of the events organised by him and used to look forward to the upcoming ones.
May God give strength to the family members and his students to bear this loss. He will always be with us in our thoughts and memories.

My relationship with Guruji began when Vandana joined Bhatkhande to reconnect with her interest in classical singing. He was a person who won you over with his calm and alluring presence. One wanted to be around him and his aura. He was persuasive and encouraging. It was a pleasure to attend his events and infectious to see his deciples seek that oneness with the self by giving into their passion so nurtured by him. He helped me appreciate that I am good no matter what and can do. Guruji shall miss you! May the almighty give you peace. Humbly Rajiv Sinha

Guruji helped me rediscover my interest in Hindustani classical singing. He helped gain confidence in myself and do what I wanted to do most – sing. He was kind understanding and forgiving to a fault. I wish to say shukriya for the encouragement. I shall miss you. Mera aapko teh dil de Naman!

I had known Vinod since we all were very young. It was in 1963 that we first met when my sister and I went to the music school run by his father. Since then, it was wonderful to see Vinod taking on the mantle of spreading music in the younger generation , thus bringing cheer and joy in several lives. Today he is no more but his legacy lives on. His warm friendship will always be cherished in our memories.

Words may not suffice to express the heartfelt sorrow that I feel for the Chopra family. I had known Sh. Vinod Ji as my dear friend Neetu’s father. Uncle’s charismatic personality and innate wisdom enraptured the youngsters. His guiding spirit and love for music has won many hearts. He may have gone but his life lessons, affinity and love will never be forgotten. May God bless the departed soul and grant strength to the family to overcome this bereavement.

I knew Sh Vinod ji for more than 30 years. From a young age he was devoted to music – a tireless teacher who cared about all his students and a visionary dedicated to expanding the reach of Bhaatkande Sangit Vidyalaya from its humble beginnings in 1939. His contributions touched the music world in many powerful ways. He was an amazing vocalist, performer, composer and collaborator. The music community in India is also indebted to him for his efforts in nurturing an appreciation for music among people from all walks of life. He created free music lessons and programs for underprivileged children, composed hundreds of songs, organized many events and laid the foundation for a bright future of the school. On a personal note, he was a dear friend, my guru and his support for my music and in all aspects of my life was steadfast. I am truly grateful to have known him, and my heart is heavy knowing that he is no longer with us. Thank you for the music and inspiring us.

Some people cross your path in life for a short span of time but their luminosity ; verve and enthusiasm for life leave behind a life long image . I had a brief interaction with shri vinod ji and I told him that I would like to continue my vocal classical music training under him when I get time : but unfortunately now that I have time on my hands he is no more . May his soul rest in peace : I pray to God to give strength to the family to carry his legacy further . I am sure he will be watching over and help you in all your endeavours . 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Guruji I lived some of my most wonderful years being your student. When in class, your understanding of us as students went beyond skills, you knew when we were hungry and you would immediately call for food 🙂 ask us to eat first before resuming singing. You saw us like your daughters too, I can never forget your affinity and love. And that wonderful smile you had on you all the time! Thank you for keeping us in your guidance. Full of gratitude I offer you my prayers. Hari Om

Mine won’t be a shradhanjali because I really can’t imagine him gone. He was my dearest friend Pooja’s father (that’s how I first met him) but found a lifelong friend of mine, in him, thereafter. Such a wonderful person, always wearing that beaming smile of his. That’s how I would always remember him, smiling caring and warm-hearted.

He was, the way he used to be, because of the four strong pillars of a family he had been a part of, his wife, my dearest Aunty and his three super awesome girls- Pooja Deepa and Neetu. May God give you all immense strength to carry on uncle’s legacy, forever and for always. Hugs!

I still cannot believe that sir you have left us and gone far away. The news of your demise was like a nightmare for me. Your presence and aura of a great teacher was magical. You were Bhatkhande Music Institution’s true strength and your guidance was truly valuable for not just your students but also teachers like me. Thank you so much for giving me the golden opportunity to be a part of this esteemed vidyalaya. I feel so fortunate to have been associated with a man who had not just golden voice, but also golden heart. I cannot ever forget the support you gave me when I was going through the very tough phase of my life. Thank you for your encouragement and motivation. Bhatkhande is like my second home and I feel very happy whenever I am there. In fact, that was one of the very reasons, I got back the hope to live. You will always be missed sir. May your soul rest in peace. Amen!
